How many days does a course last ?

The kitesurfing courses are organised into 4 levels, spread over a minimum of 2 days and a maximum of 4 days. For optimum progress, we recommend that you take levels 1 and 2 on the same day and that you spread levels 3 and 4 over two different days, so as not to tire yourself out.

Is it possible to have private lessons ?

We offer a range of packages to suit your needs: hourly packages, à la carte, group or private lessons.

Do these prices include all the necessary equipment ?

The price of the lessons includes all the equipment you need. All you need to bring is weather-appropriate clothing, sunglasses and sunscreen.

How many hours does it take to learn to kitesurf ?

The speed at which you learn to kitesurf varies from student to student, but on average our students are sailing after 3 to 4 lessons. Private lessons last 2 hours and group lessons, with a maximum of 2 students, last 2h30. One lesson is all it takes to discover this wonderful sport!

When will my kitesurfing lesson be cancelled ?

Kitesurfing lessons are cancelled when the wind is too light (less than 12 knots) or too strong (more than 27 knots). If the wind direction is not favourable, we can offer you alternative spots in the region (Netherlands).

Is kitesurfing a risky sport ?

Kitesurfing is a risky sport, but once you’ve learnt the safety procedures, it can be practised without any problems, just like diving, paragliding or driving. Rigour and caution are the watchwords for safe practice.

Do you have to be “strong” to kitesurf ?

You don’t need to be strong to kitesurf. The power of the kite is transmitted to the harness, and it can be steered like a bicycle, without putting excessive strain on the arms.

Can I start kitesurfing on my own ?

It is not advisable to start kitesurfing on your own. Specific knowledge is required and must be taught in an approved school by an IKO-certified instructor. This is the only safe way to learn the sport.

Is there a minimum weight ?

Although fitness and swimming ability are more important than weight, a minimum weight of 40kg is required. Children can start between the ages of 12 and 14, depending on their body shape.

Is there a restaurant nearby ?

The school is located on the concession of the Royal Belgium Sailing Club (RBSC), a cool beach club on the Belgian coast with a bar/restaurant. The club also has changing rooms, showers and hoses for rinsing your equipment.

Is kitesurfing tiring ?

Kitesurfing is an intensive sport, but accessible to all levels. We recommend taking levels 1 and 2 in one day and spreading levels 3 and 4 over two days to avoid excessive fatigue.

Do you sell equipment ?

We don’t sell kitesurfing equipment, but we do work with the BILLY.BE shop in Brussels.

When are you available and how do I make a reservation ?

To check availability and book your lessons, go to our page Bookings. Create a profile, select the date, time, type of course, teacher and language, then pay a deposit of €80. You will receive confirmation by email, a reminder 3 days before and all the information you need the day before your lesson.
